Electronic Field Technician

Terms of Employment W2 Contract-to-Hire, 3 Months Travel is required about 30-40% of the time to client sites in the Baltimore & DC area.
Roughly 5% of there time, there will be travel to client sites in Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New York.
The organization is growing, so in the next few years, there may be opportunity for national travel.
When not traveling, this position sits onsite in Elkridge, MD.
Roles & Responsibilities Installation and Commissioning:
Install and configure control systems, sensors, transmitters, PLCs, RTUs, and other instrumentation equipment according to project specifications and industry standards.
PLC and RTU Programming:
Develop and modify PLC and RTU programs to meet client requirements.
Ensure proper integration with existing control systems and hardware.
Maintenance and Repairs:
Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of control instruments, PLCs, RTUs, and associated hardware and software to ensure optimal performance.
Troubleshooting:
Identify and resolve technical issues in control systems, PLCs, RTUs, and instrumentation equipment, ensuring minimal downtime for our clients.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, calibration procedures, PLC/RTU programming changes, and equipment specifications.
Generate reports detailing findings and recommendations.
Client Support:
Provide technical support to clients, answer their queries, and assist with PLC/RTU programming adjustments, system training, and operational guidance as needed.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and quality control procedures during all installations, programming, and maintenance activities.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated with the latest advancements in control and instrumentation technology, PLC/RTU programming languages, and automation techniques.
Suggest improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our services.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other technicians to ensure successful project execution and client satisfaction.
Required Skills & Experience Ability to work extensively with software, including programming languages relevant to automation systems, documentation software, and other computer-based tools.
Ability to install and configure control systems, sensors, transmitters, PLCs, RTUs, and other instrumentation equipment according to project specifications.
Proficiency in developing and modifying PLC and RTU programs to meet client requirements, ensuring proper integration with existing control systems and hardware.
Experience in performing routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of control instruments, PLCs, RTUs, and associated hardware and software.
Ability to identify and resolve technical issues in control systems, PLCs, RTUs, and instrumentation equipment, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.
Strong skills in maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, calibration procedures, programming changes, and equipment specifications.
Ability to generate reports detailing findings and recommendations.
