Description: Our Fortune 500 client is currently seeking a Senior Director of Data Management. The Senior Director of Data Management maintains the core dataarchitecture of the suite of applications that directly supports theoperational and decision support activites of the business. The Senior Directorof Data Management achieves this through design direction and operationaloversight of critical enterprise data interfaces, data request governance, datamaintenance, determining structural requirements; developing and/or installingand configuring solutions and proactively monitoring of data quality andintegrity.
This job will have the following responsibilities:
o Determines database structural requirements by analyzing clientoperations, applications and programming, reviewing objectives with clients andevaluating current systems.
o Develops database solutions by designingproposed system, defining database physical structure and functionalcapabilites, security, backup and recovery specifications.
o Enhances database performance by identifyingand resolving production and application development problems, evaluating,integrating and installing new releases, completing maintenance and respondingto user inquiries.
o Enhance data integrity and controls viaauditing, process and controls implementation, and implementation of datavalidation routines.
o Ensure adherence to standards by adopting orcreating data governance processes.
o Provide support for needed ad hoc datarequests, operational reporting needs and audit based requests.
o Build organizational competencies in databasedesign, structures and modeling; extract, transform and load (ETL) design,development and implementation using a combination of platforms (SSIS,Informatica, Data Stage, Pervasive, Ab Initio), data interfaces with externalparties/systems, data maintenance activities and data governance practices.
o Support the organization in transition to 1)the scalable agile development framework (Kanban, Scrum, XP) 2) use of Optum'sdata fabric / MDM / data warehouse and 3) use of Optum's organizationalreporting and analytics platform.
This position is responsible for approximately20 team members located in Elkridge, MD and Bangalore, India. There is anopportunity to add to key roles to the team. This position reports to the VP ofOperations and Technology.
o Assess current gaps in data operations,project disciplines in data architecture delivery, organizational skills andcapabilities needed to support the business technology platform.
o Develop and gain buy-in for a plan of actionto close the gaps in data management organizational capability. This couldinclude recommendations to restructure the team, shift accountabilities as partof the integration with Optum, hiring new skills and expertise, and/orupgrading or sun setting parts of the existing technology platform.
o Establish goals for data integrity, datagovernance and data quality.
o Recruit, select, manage and develop teammembers; provide senior level guidance and support to the team.
o Actively participate in leadership andcross-functional meetings.
o Participate in the onboarding of new plans andnew clients to the HouseCall service.
o Travel as required.
Qualifications & Requirements:

o Minimum of 15 years of technology experience. 8years in leadership roles, with at least 4 years of experience leading datamanagement teams and managing online transaction processing systems.
o Knowledge and experience with the followingtechnologies is a requirement:
o SQL Server database administration
o Customer relationship management (CRM) andclient interaction history
o Data governance and data quality managementpractices
o Healthcare sector experience and familiaritywith CMS regulations is preferred.
o Bachelor's degree required, with a preferencefor computer science, engineering and/or mathematics.
o The successful candidate will demonstrateadvanced skills in the following areas: Database Design, Data Maintenance,Database Security, Database Management, Requirements Analysis, Presentation ofcomplex materials and topics in simple language.
o Advanced degree in computer science withproject management experience and certifications are desirable (e.g. COBIT,PMP, PMI-ACP etc.)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
