The Project Engineer I is an entry-level position.
The Project Engineer I performs engineering design for Groundworks, Propping or Bridging.
The position requires effective work coordination on an assigned project team and specific discipline.
The Project Engineer I uses engineering principles for structural analysis and design to produce project calculations and drawings under the direction of a professional engineer.
Duties /
Responsibilities:
Prepares calculations and drawings under the direction of a professional engineer Follows engineering operating procedures and company guidelines to producequality engineering designs and construction drawings Analyzes reports, project construction drawings, maps, testing data, topographicaland geologic data to determine design parameters Efficiently uses available resources and time to meet project requirements and duedates listed in CRM Follows direction from a professional engineer in the development of projectparameters, specifications and design methods Reviews and becomes familiar with Mabey equipment for effective applicationengineering design Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineeringdesign documents May occasionally be required to attend meetings or job sites with the professionalengineer or with sales staff Promotes a team environment with engineers and other departments Promotes internal and external customer service excellence Adheres to and upholds Mabey's safety standards Other duties as assigned Requirements:
Must demonstrate progression in skill through training and engineering project work Excellent verbal and written communication skills Familiarity with structural analysis, mechanics of materials, Finite Element Method(FEM), Mathcad or Matlab, and proficient in Excel and Word Must have passed the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) ExaminationEducation and Work
Experience:
A bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, with a concentration instructures, from an accredited four (4) year university or college with an emphasis onstructural design The physical demands of this role require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors when required by the job.
